And it's still one of the greatest Sci-Fi movies of all time. It's not an "action packed blockbuster" and therefore might not appeal to the "big robots with huge laser guns crowd", it's a delicate and profound look into the human soul and the implications on the way we look at ourselves if we were to make contact with other races. The opening sequence encapsulates all of this and alone is worth the price of the film. Written by Carl Sagan who was one of the most inspiring scientists of all time and with a fantastic cast, one not to miss.

This still remains one of my all-time favourite movies. A thinking-persons blockbuster with an emotional core and stunning performance by Jodie Foster. Add to that FX that stand the test of time, great music and sound. A must watch for any intelligent SciFi fan - if you loved Interstellar you'll love this.
