About this movie

A decade after a tragic mistake, family man Chas and occult investigator John Constantine (voiced by Matt Ryan) set out to cure Chas’s daughter Trish from a mysterious supernatural coma. With the help of the mysterious Nightmare Nurse, the influential Queen of Angels, and brutal Aztec God Mictlantecuhtli, the pair just might have a chance at outsmarting the demon Beroul to save Trish’s soul. In a world of shadows and dark magic, not everything is what it seems, and there’s always a price to pay. The path to redemption is never easy, and if Constantine is to succeed, he must navigate through the dark urban underbelly of Los Angeles, outwit the most cunning spawns of hell, and come face to face with arch-nemesis Nergal – all while battling his own inner demons!

This movie truly captured the spirit of John Constantine, a character who i am quite the fan of despite his criminal lack of good reception. Matt Ryan does an excellent job of portraying ole' Johnny Con, as he always has, and this movie gives me hope for the coming future of the Hellblazer series, a future that might finally be ready for the expertly crafted dark comedy rampant in the series. This movie gave me exactly what i wanted from a Constantine movie, but still left me craving more.

A thoroughly enjoyable DC movie. I'm glad that with Constantine they don't pull their punches. I'm glad they show him for what he is, someone who screwed things up and is just trying to make them a little better. This is a story about John Constantine trying to save the soul of the daughter of a lifelong friend. Full of twists and turns and good till the sad end.

Google is advertising this for $1.99 HD rental then when go to purchase it the price is reset to the original and puts it closer to $4.50-$5 and not sure if I'm willing to pay that considering the mixed reviews. At 1.99 I will but unsure if I'm gonna pay almost $5.
