About this movie

This epic masterpiece has never been more glorious. Meticulously restored with a stunningly vivid picture and breathtaking sound, this legendary winner of 4 Academy Awards® stars Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra, the cunning queen of Egypt, who seduces Rome's rulers, only to meet her match in Mark Antony (Richard Burton). Their passionate romance could decide the fate of the world's greatest empires.

It was a great 6 hour masterpiece film that was chopped up and ruined by 20th Century fox many years ago. If they ever find and restore all the lost cut out scenes that fell to the editing floor then I'll buy it. Until then it gets 3 stars.

Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor are excellent in this film and their chemistry really comes through. It's little wonder they left their (then) current spouses and remarried to each other. Also of note is that Taylor and Burton only three years later play Martha and George in the masterpiece that is Edward Albee's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" and age so well very well; entirely different characters for both of them. They are true actors and my idols.

The movie is outstanding, but as usual they are ridiculous with the prices especially when you can get them free .. it's a sad thing when we have to pay for movies that belongs to you and me . Think companies like you tube who cried to congress and Obama so much we were given a date that all movies and tv shows must. Be paid for to make these idiots richer.. with luck Biden will stop it ,,
