It's an average semi super hero film. Obviously part two looks to be fantastic, but this one is only so so as far as the story. The special effects that made him look skinny were just weird looking. On a side note, before Disney bought Marvel, all the new Marvel movies used to be $9.99 SD and $12.99 HD. But my rating is for the movie, NOT Disney's price hike.

This film is the perfect adaptation of Marvel's Golden Age legend. Chris Evans turned out to be the one, after so many decades of thespian failures, born to play the Sentinel of Liberty with an astonishing accomplishment to make a blonde, blue-eyed patriotic Adonis on film both fascinating and endearing. With that actor being Marvel's answer to Christopher Reeve, Evans becomes the anchor for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's moral center that made him the star he deserved to be. While the story's climax is a bit flawed in logic that a simple added line could have been added to fix , the story is still a fun adventure that you owe it yourself to see.

This first look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Captain America serves as a great way to introduce the star-spangled man with a plan to new audiences. Chris Evans plays Steve Rogers, a humble, yet frail man who is genetically altered thanks to the Super Soldier Serum now in his system. Through solid performances from the supporting cast, great action sequences, an engaging main character, and a decent antagonist played by Hugo Weaving (Red Skull), Captain America: The First Avenger serves as one of the MCU's finest of Phase 1, up there with Iron Man and The Avengers.
