About this movie

Berlin, 1931. As Nazism rises in Germany, flamboyant American Sally Bowles (Liza Minnelli) sings in a decadent nightclub and falls in love with a British language teacher (Michael York)--whom she shares with a homosexual German baron. But Sally's small, carefree, tolerant and fragile cabaret world is about to be crushed under the boot of the Nazis as Berlin becomes a trap from which Sally's German friends will not escape in this ground-breaking, blockbuster film version of the Broadway musical Cabaret.

In my opinion it is virtually impossible to compare this movie with any movie! Think about it, Comparing this movie today to a movie in the same genre is like comparing a brand new pair of shoes! The pair is beautiful shiny, styling trend setting but lacks one main element! The new shoe has No History nor does it have the rich heritage associated with the old. Need I waste anymore of your time explaining something to you which you already are aware of completely?

Love the musical and the movie holds up. But the sound mix on this version is very quiet. Wish it was better
