The description is SO off-base! Writers and Directors both sucked elephant balls on this. OMG I couldn't sit thru the first 3rd of it, had to shut it down.

First off, don't rent this movie as something to watch while you process your laundry. YOU WILL MISS IT. Ok, that having been said, this is the most profound movie that I have seen so far this year (as of April 2017). It's the first time I have ever really hated a character portrayed by Guy Ritchie. The story is a brutal portrayal of life in an infant America with religion as its backbone. Dakota Fanning portrays a young woman passing from childhood to adulthood in a fairly harsh environment. A quick shout out to the cinematographer for creating a beautiful - but not distracting - backdrop for this story. I believe this story can be considered a fairly accurate portrayal of life as a woman in the 1800s. Dialogue is sparse but extremely meaningful when it occurs. Don't let the slow start fool you. If you're like me, you will be covering your eyes and ears on occasion.

Sad, bit depressing and starling but was rooting for the main the whole time. that went well. Whoever wrote this mustve been related to George RR Martin. Story premise is good though
