About this movie

Set on the east coast of New Zealand in the year 1984, an 11-year-old kid and devout Michael Jackson fan gets a chance to know his father, who has returned to find a bag of money he buried years ago. An international hit from acclaimed writer/director Taika Waititi (Flight of the Conchords, The Inbetweeners) BOY is the hilarious and heartfelt coming-of-age tale about heroes, magic and Michael Jackson.

This is everything a movie should be. Poignant, emotional, visual storytelling. A cast of beautiful and very real people. A coming of age story that is never what you expect, and every twist makes you want to laugh and cry at the same time. I experienced emotions in this movie that I've never felt elsewhere
