At times charming, and at others (must of the time) quite excruciating to watch. Rickman certainly saves this film. The romantic element and the relationship between Gustavo, Bo and his dad are all soooo over done, unbelievable and simply don't make logical sense, they should have been left out. Also, definitely not a wine-lovers film really and at times is difficult to watch, for example Sam is apparently in love with wine and winemaking, however is amazed that the vines need to be stressed to produce good wine...wut? Obviously put in to justify the cheesy horrible line that came after it about the need to struggle to produce greatness. Also, why do all female characters have to be portrayed in a sexualising way in films particularly in this era? Its soooo un-necessary and, again, insulting to anyone with a brain cell. Cheesy, American, just 'ok'.
