About this movie

Former Government physicist Bob Lazar made headlines world-wide in 1989 when he came forward with his account of reverse-engineering an alien spacecraft for the US Military. The reason the public even knows the name Area 51 is because Lazar came forward about the work he did at the formerly secret military base. His testimony remains the most controversial and important UFO story of all time. This film intimately chronicles the challenges and travails of a cosmic whistleblower. Burdened with a revolutionary secret, he had to choose between his oath to his country or his conscience. Corbell’s film will explore Lazar’s groundbreaking claims and the devastating impact it has had on his life over the course of the last thirty years, including rare and never before revealed footage guaranteed to alter the landscape of the debate. He blew the whistle, shocked the world, then went silent - until now.

90% of the first 14 minutes is absolute garbage. All of the narration really removes you from the storyline and quite literally interrupts the film. The most frustrating part: the filmmaker is so narcissistic, he awkwardly shoehorns himself into a film which has nothing to do with him. Furthermore, he made a film that's half documentary, half drama. A good portion of the film consists of pre-written scenes. For example, the film is peppered with scenes of the filmmaker oddly pretending to be on a phone call with somebody on speakerphone. Why? It's so unnecessary. Hey, buddy, you're a documentary filmmaker, not an actor - make a documentary, not a drama... and take yourself out of the film. I only gave it two stars because that's about how much actual, solid content the film has: 40%.

Bob Lazar's story simply does not ring true. He claimed to have studied at MIT but there is no record of him ever being enrolled there, in addition during the time he was supposedly there he was actually enrolled at Pierce Junior College in LA. He graduated in the bottom third of his class and the only science subject he studied was Chemistry and yet we are to believe he worked for the government as a physicist....please.
