This was just bad. I bind the writers and producers of this movie from doing harm to themselves and others. The acting wasn't terrible, but good actors can't save bad scripts. There was no structure or context given to the protagonist's journey into the super natural. They allude to the characters following a similar journey as the original cast, but don't show the conversations that would need to happen for that to make sense. Beyond that, there's really harsh cuts in a couple scenes were dialogue jumps and is cut off abruptly, like entire scenes were removed. Later dialogue seems to come out of nowhere and call back to conversations that happened off camera. The special effects were better in the original. Might have been better if filmed on tiktok or snapchat.

Reply to my previous rating. I thought 3 stars was generous, again it was actually pretty good till the last half-hour, I just think it could have gotten a lot scarier. They kind of went in a hoaky direction.

This is a sequel, not a reboot. It's a refreshing movie made for the next generation and those that are open-minded (just like the original which tackled sexism, racism, classism, and harmful beauty standards), so if you are put off by progressive social thinking, don't bother, it wasn't made for you. Very satisfying ending. ❤️
