About this movie

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. A vastly disappointing movie that does nothing new for science fiction. Whereas the original film featured a dirty and believable dystopia that felt very real, the sequel utterly fails to deliver any atmosphere or reality in its scenes or settings. The entirety of the film is a tired old detective story told in an overly convoluted way through an over reliance on CGI. The end result is a boring mess that feels less like Blade Runner and more like three actors in front of a green screen. It's overly animated, poorly told and an overall massive disappointment. The entirety of the movie feels victimized by a director with a shot-over-content mentality, animating vast vistas and unique visions with nothing to them. Blade Runner 2049 looks spectacular, but in the same way a Snyder film does. Scratch the surface of this forgettable mess of a film and you'll quickly hit rock bottom. An absolute waste of time for anyone except dire-hard visual artists who can ignore the limping narrative to enjoy the pretty pretty colors.

Movie itself is awesome and would receive five stars. However, many of the subtitles mentioned in the store page (including Finnish) are not actually provided.
