Having just come from watching the original and going straight into this i can say it was an enjoyable watch, people complained about it being so long but for me it was a throwback to the old epics. I don't think it was as good as the original but it was certainly close for me, great visuals and still set in a very gritty place, just like the original. Probably wouldn't be one that i would watch again anytime soon hence why i gave it 4 stars, watching it once was satisfying but watching it twice might be a drag. All in all a very good film and a very good sequel, just be prepared for it to get a bit slow sometimes.

Ryan Gosling plays a good part in this, natural evolution of the original Bladerunner. This movie is dark, apocalyptic, moody, sometimes witty, but also gripping, if you are a huge fan of the original movie, like I am. And the twist towards the end is unexpected. Some critics wrote this movie off as 2nd rate. But it is far from it. I enjoyed every minute of this movie. The camera work is superb, with some stunning visuals. And the acting is very good indeed. But if you dont know much about the concept of this movie, and haven't seen the original, then you need to watch that one first to understand the idea, and I mean WATCH IT, cos if you blink, you will miss something important. Once the original movie has embedded itself in your psyche, then you will be ready to watch this instalment, and have a true understanding of the concept. One big difference between this and the original, is that the original was entirely shot at night, which gave it a much more atmospheric feel than this, the sequel. And that is one thing that this sequel lacks somewhat. But still a great movie regardless. I rated this as 5🌟, and imo, it is worth every one.

Visually impressive and brilliant sequel.. but I've watched the original more times I can remember past 25 yrs or so and as good as this is I'm not gonna say the same about this in 20 yrs... I could quote Roy Batty's last words and Vangelis totally nailed the sound track, there's nothing really as memorable in this sequel, but it's still worth 5 stars.
