About this movie

Set within the world of global cybercrime, BLACKHAT follows furloughed convict Nicholas Hathaway (Chris Hemsworth), and his American and Chinese partners as they hunt a high-level cybercrime network from Chicago to Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Jakarta. As Hathaway closes in, the stakes become personal as he discovers that the attack on a Chinese nuclear power plant was just the beginning. Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral) directs the propulsive action-thriller. (Original Title - Blackhat) - 2015 Universal Studios. All Rights Reserved.

This is neo-noir par excellence. The urban night-scapes and digital world are brought vividly to life by Michael Mann and his team. The film has been criticised for too much coding and keyboard tapping, but there is plenty of action and it's edge of your seat stuff. It might not be Mann's best but if you like his digital crime films which started with Collateral, you should love this.

I thought this movie was good with interesting directing. I get board very easily with normal Hollywood movies, I find they don't set the scene very well and don't give me time to imagine. I got totally lost in my head watching this movie, I consider that a good thing. After reading so many bad reviews and the odd good one I was sure this movie was for me, and it was. If super hero movies with gimmicks and non stop action are your thing, then forget it, there is nothing for you here. I know this is not a Sifi but if you like movies like blade runner (original), moody, serious, good visual scenes and a steady pace then give it a go. Its no way as good as blade runner but definitely the best film Ive seen in a while

The sound is awful. So hard to hear most of the dialogue. For most of this film, I had no idea what was going on. The plot was too hard and complicated too follow. Too much computer talk... Overall, complete and utter rubbish.
