About this movie

A mesmerizing psychological thriller with a killer whale at its centre, Blackfish is the first film since Grizzly Man to show how nature can get revenge on man when pushed to its limits. Blackfish tells the story of Tilikum, a performing killer whale that killed several people while in captivity. Along the way, director-producer Gabriela Cowperthwaite compiles shocking footage and emotional interviews to explore the creature's extraordinary nature, the species' cruel treatment in captivity, the lives and losses of the trainers and the pressures brought to bear by the mulit-billion dollar sea-park industry. This emotionally-wrenching, tautly-structured story challenges us to consider our relationship to nature and reveals how little we humans have learned from these highly-intelligent and enormously-sentient fellow mammals. 2013 Our Turn Productions, LLC. These creatures are the bullies of the sea. They gang up on other animals to eat them. This documentary features a lot of trainers from sea world that get emotional and tell of how the animals are mistreated and how they need to be protected. The over riding feeing I had was that they were idiots who confused this big killing machine with a human being. They aren't. A series of common sense observations occur. Put a big fish in a small aquarium and there will be trouble. Treat a big powerful animal like a h

I was shown this documentry at school and nearly everyone should know that if they release them now, they will die in the wild because they don't know what to do. Sea world is supposed to be building a new tank for them that is huge and very deep but that will be finished in 2018. So while that is happening. No shows will be on but you do still get to see the killer whales. I do feel very sorry for Tilikum because he has been transported to many different aquariums and that puts a lot of stress on him so what do you tink he will do... He will take his anger out on anything he sees including trainers and other killer whales.

This is full of lies. The videos of Tilikum being abused are from a different park, NOT SEAWORLD. SeaWorld is donating $10,000,000 to Orca research and rescue, and how much is Blackfish donating? NOTHING. ORCAS ARE DYING BECAUSE OF YOU.
