About this movie

An all-star cast led by Michael Jai White is featured in this 1970's-style blaxploitation action film about the legendary super crime fighter "Black Dynamite." The Man killed his brother, pumped heroin into local orphanages, and flooded the ghetto with adulterated malt liquor. Black Dynamite was the one hero willing to fight The Man all the way from the blood-soaked city streets to the hallowed halls of the Honky House. © 2008 Black Dynamite, LLC. All Rights Reserved.

Good movie, but wasn't what I expected from reviews and recommendations. This wasn't an "Airplane!" nor a "Gareth Merengi's Darkplace". I'd expect someone to enjoy the former without liking disaster films, but the humor in Black Dynamite is more subtle and more of a background thing for much of the film, that one needs to have a soft spot for blacksploitation films to begin with.

The popular urban Blaxploitation classics such as Shaft, Super Fly, Cleopatra Jones, Coffy, Foxy Brown, Black Samurai, Undercover Brother, and Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song comes to Black Dynamite, a young fly Vietnam War veteran and former CIA officer. Black Dynamite fights and clean up the streets of drugs and gang violence throughout his community, go up against a rogue corrupt federal government, and fighting racism of the Ku Klux Klan. Black Dynamite is also a fine, handsome man especially the taste of women he romance anywhere, everytime.

Not sure to where to begin BUT this is in fact one of the most underrated, overlooked and overshadowed (by junk) comedies to ever be released. In reality, it isn't for everyone and that's OK. It is definitely 10 times funnier to anyone that understands the era and the culture that is being made light of in the film. It's actually very dry, intelligent and oxymoron-ish at the same damn time. All races make fun of themselves at some point, so I urge everyone to laugh and enjoy it but make sure a Black friend explains some of it to you first... Lol. LOVE IT! One of my favorite comedies of all time.
