The missile used to blow the ship when they are in the train tunnel... was copied from the original version of this movie, copying scenes from another movie is not acceptable, it puts off viewers and frankly loses interest. You lost my interest on any upcoming sequels (if any). Luckily for me I had a coupon which let me rent for 99p so all in all I guess I am lucky. Avoid this title, its not worth watching scenes that were copied from the same movie named "Skyline".

Put simply, if you enjoyed the first one you'll get on fine with this one. Starts off with a new group of characters who eventually encounter the survivors of the first movie. Develops the alien lore further although a bit of a mash up of sci fi genre clichés (Independence Day, Predator, AvP, Battleship, Halo). The production values are mostly very good and the combat enjoyable.

With all the "bad" reviews I was wondering if this was going to be a throw-away "freebie" rental (it was .99c). But, alas it is not. Like original this was pretty good. This had more story though, and the writers tried really hard to make you care about the characters. So this was no a bad film. Why four star? A different production company did this, and it looks good but feels cheap. If you remember the original, then you will know the insides of the ships and the aliens looked VERY different than in this film. In fact, they look...cheap. And if you remember the ending then you know that this a real weird thing. BUT at least we know that this film takes place AT THE SAME AS THE FIRST. Just with a different group of people. And we soon meet the last two survivors from part one, and the film goes on into it's story. Which was actual MUCH better than the first. I just wish the production values were similar in some regards. That said, this was a good rental. Oh, an =d this review probably has typos. I'm a few feet from the screen.
