About this movie

A kaleidoscope of color and culture clash humorously as an Indian family in London tries to raise their soccer-playing daughter in a traditional way. Unlike tarty elder sister Pinky, who is preparing for an Indian wedding and a lifetime of cooking the perfect chapatti, Jess' dream is to play soccer professionally like her hero David Beckham. Wholeheartedly against Jess' unorthodox ambition, her parents eventually reveal that their reservations have more to do with protecting her than with holding her back. When Jess is forced to make a choice between tradition and her beloved sport, her family must decide whether to let her chase her dream...and a soccer ball.

Would've been perfect had the two main girls ended up together... That's what I thought would happen, I mean, they have tons more chemistry with eachother than their coach. Edit: Ok wow... just found out Jess and Jules were originally supposed to end up together but they scrapped it cause they figured it would be too controversial. What a bunch of bs.

Bend It Like Beckham is inspirational and great story changer to every woman worldwide who are making a difference to be on the sport they play and beyond. Women are very good equality as Men no matter who or what type of rules they can't then they're so wrong and totally sexist. Anyone is good at playing any sport such as football, tennis, volleyball, basketball, baseball, golf you name it.

Such a fab movie! Anytime I see this movie on TV I can't keep from watching it. The actors/actresses are great (& nice to look at!), and you'll see how the lives of Indian immigrants are and how hard it is to be part of their new country/community (UK) while still trying to hold on to their customs and culture. Great feel-good movie. And all is well in the end! Love it!
