I first saw this film within its first year and have watched it periodically since. It is one of the best depictions of Christ, that I have seen, whist being a gripping fictional story in its own right. We never see the face of the Christ - only His effect on people. That is the only way to do it. No actor can ever truly be The Son of God, no matter how good the intention. It is amazing that despite the lack of modern technology in the fifties, the film is still good today.

La mejor película que he visto. Sus actores, el desarrollo, la realidad con que está hecha. Me cuesta ver la nueva version ya que va a se imposible que la supere o que no sea ridicula ante esta versión vieja.

Film that depicts a Jewish nobleman who is betrayed by Roman friends and seeks revenge to take upon his betrayers. Brilliant plot and excellent performances by actors weave together a beautiful film in context to betrayal and ultimate bravery
