When young Charlie, Carrie and Paul move to a small village during World War II, they discover their host, Miss Price (Angela Lansbury), is an apprentice witch! This was my childhood. ❤ And maybe it's a personal preference of mine, but I feel like it deserves a much higher rating. BaB felt like a story that was ahead of its time in terms of content and character development. And given the fact that it was made during a major turning point in the Disney animation team's career (Walt had recently passed away before he could complete this movie with them) it makes it all the more special. The chemistry between Angela Lansbury and David Tomlinson is pure magic, and the trio of orphans who tag along are equally charming and engaging. And while the movie overall is lighthearted and whimsical (particularly with the fusion of animation meets real life later on in the story), there is still that subtle presence of suspenseful danger with the backdrop of WWII. If you loved classics such as Mary Poppins as a child, then this is a movie that will also win your heart.

Classic Awesomeness. Live action cartoons, even a fútbol match, hilarious and heart warming. Amazing songs by Sherman brothers, Angela Lansbury never disappoints- with great characters, magical heroism, no molly coddling suspense, a fantasy adventure during WWII. Grew up with, still love. They don't make them like this anymore, and obviously don't have the imagination or whimsy to make anything close. Enjoy how ever you acquire, the more the merrier.

I've loved Bedknobs and Broomsticks for a long, long time. I finally showed it to my daughter and she loved it, too. Disney has made so many great movies over the years - shame this one is not better remembered higher in the pile.
