About this movie

Teenager Nicolas Sheff (Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet) seems to have it all -- good grades, editor of the school newspaper, actor, artist and athlete. When Nic's addiction to meth threatens to destroy him, his desperate father (Academy Award nominee Steve Carell) does whatever he can to save his son and his family. From the Oscar-winning producers of Moonlight and 12 Years a Slave, Beautiful Boy is a deeply affecting and powerful true story of a father fighting to save his teenage son from drug addiction.

One of the best films I have seen in a while, its like its played in real time and total personifies the challenges a parent faces with a child lost to addiction. I was inspired, left me thinking about this film for days, told so many people about: to watch but not saying its content, only that every parent should watch it to understand the living tragedy that comes with substance abuse; the dark poetic, artist place his son is taken to, and compelled to return dispute the love of a parent.

Having lived through this, it's rare to find such .. accuracy may be too clinical a word but let's go with it . . Emotional, actual, physical, suffering from every perspective and so importantly, the absolute inexplicable war that goes on in your head. My heart overloaded with sadness, despair, such pride and hope knowing forgiveness and happiness can be ours. Less than a hand full have ever been so truly beautiful and moving in my lifetime, now this makes it full. Peace, Blessings and love

I just loved it. It has everything one need to learn about substance use disorder. The movie also raises awareness on substance use disorder tackeling variouse aspects from the person directly affect to the person's enviornemnet and the effect of family daynamics . I wish there are more movies on more mental illness. Bravo!! Enjoy watching it!
