About this movie

A Marine platoon fights to prevent the city of Los Angeles from being overtaken by a race of highly advanced alien invaders in this epic sci-fi action thriller from director Jonathan Liebesman (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) and producer Neal H. Moritz (I Am Legend, Fast & Furious). After decades of speculation about life on other planets, the people of Earth discover that extraterrestrials really do exist when destruction rains down from the stars on cities all across the globe. When the alien warships descend upon Los Angeles, however, the ferocious invaders discover that humankind won't go down without a fight as a gruff Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his fearless troop of jarheads point their weapons skyward and make one last stand for the entire human race.

Horrible Movie and im a huge Alien Sci Fi Fan of these kind of films.I was on a date and managed to stick out the whole 2 hours for this film in the theatre.Like some other reviews the CGI was just Aweful! It was basically a armed forces advertisement from start to finish. This film I believed hurt the actors careers because the movie was so terrible. The movie had a bad plot, horrible writing and was Ultimately Cheesy. This movie was beyond disappointment!!

This movie lacks common sense. Why would aliens have such primitive ships and gear when they can travel light years? Why would they use explosives similar to human rockets? And the biggest thing..why would they need water? I can think of several planets made entirely of water... Yet they came to earth. FYI... If aliens invaded, it would be like a boot to an ant and we are the ant

This movie is ok. Some of the best parts of the movie are at the beginning with all the alien monsters, and the different things that they do. The problem is the writers/producer screw up the story line (spoiler alert!). They kill the best friend we already relate to and the hero doesn't get the girl in the end. He's taken by the aliens as well. Still worth watching if you like alien movies and want to see some of the cool effects and monsters.
