About this movie

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition" includes approximately 30 minutes of extended footage never before seen in theaters! From director Zack Snyder comes “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” starring Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent in the characters’ first big-screen pairing. Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

After all the hype running up to this film I actually had high hopes for it. Sadly though the only decent part of this movie was what was shown in the trailer. The rest of the film was a yawn fest. Affleck can not at all carry the mantle of the bat, he just doesn't have it in him. Most of the time he looked constipated instead of grim. Nothing happens for most of the film and when it does it's a complete let down. A waste of time, unless you like dull boring movies, then watch away.

I'm a massive comic and film fan. So let me tell you why this film failed it's main audience. Firstly they used the wrong batman. There are several batman stories but the one used here is not the traditional Bruce Wayne, he openly murders people which was always one of his highest mandates. Batman doesn't kill, sometimes he won't "save" a person but that is entirely different to punching 30mm rounds from a high powered jet mounted cannon through someone's ribcage. Just one error of several with this plot.

Political statement after political statement, constant questions on cultural morality, too many muddled introductions of superheroes and the most annoying portrayal of Lex Luther... this movie is and absolute disaster. There are some brilliant Batman moments but even here we see problems such as Batman killing or violently wounding his opponents, which goes against Batman's ethos. Don't be fooled by the Snyder fanboys; the extended cut is as bad as the theatrical cut. It's a stinker.
