From director Zack Snyder comes "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," starring Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent in the characters' first big-screen pairing. Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.

Does everything wrong you could possibly do with a Batman vs Superman movie. The movie is boring and functions as nothing more than an advertisement to DC movies to come with the title fight being nothing more than a misdirect to spark interest being absent from the flick itself as Batman or Superman barely have any interaction and the battle they do have is pathetic. The motives are as weak as can be as the movie tries to keep both character free of fault as possible one being tricked the other blackmailed. The fight is uncreative a veteran hero with 20 years of experience fighting Gotham worst Batman and powerful yet grounded Superman just punch each other for about a minute and a half that is unacceptable! given how grand fight scenes were done in Man of Steel to which this movie is designed to be a semi-sequel to. The movie introduces a new Batman but doesn't do anything with him the suit looks amazing but nothing is done with the character mostly all the Batman action happens off screen with the audience only getting to see the aftermath of Batman breaking up a human trafficking hideout or breaking into lexcorp to steal a kryptonite crystal with it implyed to be amazing and when we do see a action sequence it is but only ticks off as we should been having that all through the movie. Same with Superman who only really gets a montage to sum up what he does not really growing or evolving in anyway since the last movie. The final act comes out of nowhere with a Wonder Woman and Doomsday shoved in and feels completely unnecessary the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger nor does any of the set up really, it's as useless as that suicide squad post credit scene, but doesn't really go anywhere, just like any setup in this movie, in the movies sequel Justice League.

You have to understand what's happening here, if you think about it and truly dig into the details of what you see in the film you'll find if you know the comics you can connect the dots. Yes, it is true the movie feels rushed, and if your not paying attention in the first part you'll miss every point the movie tries to make, but again, you have to understand that this was an information and set up movie with a title match as our main attraction. What he did in this film is remove the need for origin storys, which will save DC a lot of time in set up, and the big bad action we all crave will come quicker in the plots of the future films I imagine. Yes lex needed more screen time but remember, with the extra 30 minutes of extra footage and a brand new 'R' rating, extending the film's run time to a little over 3 hours, I'm reserving my final judgment for my next viewing of this epic and fun film. In the end it's always good to remember that no matter what, it's fun to see these iconic characters on screen. And P.S.,.... Ben could not have done a better, more charismatic Bruce wayne, and any more of a badass version of the dark knight! He was vary well cast so don't believe everything you see about him, I give him and the movie vary high marks, a must see.

The ultimate cut definitely adds more character development and clears up major confusion surrounding some of the plot points of the original. However, both cuts of the movie offer different things that are both good and bad. The theatrical seems to move a-mile-a-minute and retains a good enough pace to keep the viewer interested the entire time but fails to explain motivations clearly or represent judgment accurately. The extended edition does clear up the confusion and definitely adds a large portion of motivation to the characters through short scenes which ultimately allow for a much more convincing story. This cut of the movie also tends to drag in several places because it attempts to explain as much as possible. I think the main problem with this movie is actually that the story is simply to in depth and too long for a traditional movie. This story reminds me of what I might read in a graphic novel involving these characters just because of how the story plays out and how each plot line is setup. If you're willing to dive in deep to a world filled with controversy over superpowers and moral obligations, then this is a fantastic choice. This is not a happy Marvel hero movie.
