About this movie

Batman Begins explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents' murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city. ©BATMAN and all related characters and elements are TM and (c) of DCComics. After Batman & Robin. There's no way people wouldn't go, goo, goo, ga, ga on a new dark Batman film. I was one them. I rooted for Nolan and this film and he taught me alot as I watched this film regularly. Now I don't like it as much as I did. Rachel Dawes is annoying and poorly cast. Liam Neeson is epic in this. The "Bat rasp" is annoying and the preppy Christian Bale, just doesn’t look like Bruce Wayne. Ben Affleck is better. Michael Cain is crap as Alfred. Production design is dope. Tumbler is sick.

As near to a perfect Batman movie as any have ever been made, including the jovial and true to the comic's campiness 1966 Adam West movie. Batman Begins (2005) is crucially a lot of fun to watch and yet maintains a grim patina of reality, courtesy of director Christopher Nolan's intelligent style and an excellent screenplay by David S. Goyer. Christian Bale makes for a perfect Bruce Wayne/Batman, the rest of the cast are also great. Wonderful rousing music from Hans Zimmer, bruising fight choreography, beautiful cinematography from Wally Pfister and a comparatively lean running time of: 134 minutes complete an almost perfect Batman/Superhero origin story. What keeps Batman Begins from complete perfection is since it has a 12 certification, there's hardly any onscreen blood or swearing.

This was the first of the Dark Knight trilogy and the start of something big. This was the first time that Batman's full origin story had been shown in a movie but at times it feels overly slow and disengaging. It has some good bits but I think most people just like this one because it complements their intelligence.
