I love Kristen Wiig so much, but I could not keep watching this lame sketch comedy. When it started I had to make sure I hadn’t actually purchased the wrong film. It could not commit to anything, each storyline cheapened by the other, made worse by shoddy, infomercial quality cinematography, lighting, and sets. It’s too bad, with the cast and a more earnest script sans the evil villain could have been a great Greta Gerwig kind of exploration of middle aged life during this era of America, or gone full tilt Austin powers in the other direction. A real let down either way, not to mention the completely misleading marketing which made this look like a charming character exploration, which it unfortunately is not.

This movie is silly, ridiculously silly and I was there for it. A smattering of different kinds of comedy and somehow truly touching kind leads. It's almost like a bridesmaids style of comedy without the raunchiness. I went in expecting nothing and ended up being surprisingly satisfied when it was over. It's not gonna be for everyone, no doubt about that, but it hit the funny bone for me 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think women might find this movie slightly funnier than men. My wife thought it was hilarious. I didn't as much and I love every comedy. I thought they were going for an Austin Powers/ Napoleon Dynamite vibe but it kind of fell flat. I gave it the benefit of the doubt but just was expecting more as Bridesmaids was actually hilarious. Still a decent empty calories movie Overall.
