Bad Times at the El Royale

im usually into these kids of mystery, thriller, drama type movies but this one i couldnt figure out. the entire time i was wondering what the hell was going on. it didnt grab my attention. and then i got so far into it i had to finish it to see if i couls get it. the last 20 minutes was good....still didnt make sense...and the ending was horrible

This movie is ok. It starts strong, but about halfway through poops the bed and becomes less interesting with a terrible pace. the characters are all interesting but aren't well fleshed out minus one of them. The twists are weak and one is poorly written. Worth watching. Not worth a purchase in my opinion. Though i did buy it sight unseen. Whoopsies.

A little misleading in the way it was promoted, to the effect of '7 stangers, 7 secrets.' makes you think it might be mysterious. In fact it's mush less about mystery and more about reveal after reveal as this 'bad time' unfolds. There is a sub plot that might confuse people, which starts from John Hamm's character and seems to go nowhere but that's where the rewatch value comes in. Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Bridges are great co-leads in this. A very enjoyable watch if you are very detail oriented.
