I liked it. The movie was good and had freaking scary suspense. The guy knew what he was doing but acted like a complete idiot in bear country. First of all you don't let a complete stranger or anybody for that matter cook food directly in your campsite. That is very dangerous. You don't wear dirty clothes to bed that pick up food odors. You don't hang bear bags over flimsy tree branches. You don't go near dead animal carcasses. You turn around if you see bear tracks. And you never ever ever run from a bear!!!! That is one race you will not win. She was damn lucky she survived.

They've only shown the bear twice in this 2hr movie when it attacked those people. Don't rent this movie! All it shows is the couple walking around looking for a lake & bickering. Rent it, just remember, you've been warned.

While the story of survival was great, the movie was just okay. The cinematography was actually annoying. Too many up close and intentionally out of focus shots ... a LOT of out of focus scenes, too many in fact. We had NO idea what the director and cinematography were going for, what effect they were to hoping to achieve other than to purely annoy viewers. Of course, the Canadians felt the cinematography was the best but then Canadians seem to think anything they do is the greatest. The cinematography was the only thing that kept us from giving this a 5-star. Like I said, the story was actually very good, and very intense. The acting by Peregrym and Roop was very good. Unfortunately, to repeat, just very, very poor, uneven, terrible cinematography, which destroyed most of the movie
