About this movie

Starring the explosive talents of Bruce Willis, Academy Award(R)-winners Ben Affleck and Billy Bob Thornton, Liv Tyler, Steve Buscemi, and Will Patton, ARMAGEDDON is a meteor storm of action-adventure moviemaking that has you on the edge of your seat forgetting to breathe! When NASA's executive director, Dan Truman (Thornton), realizes the Earth has 18 days before it's obliterated by a meteor the size of Texas, he has only one option -- land a ragtag team of roughneck oil drillers on the asteroid and drop a nuclear warhead into its core. Spectacular special effects, laugh-out-loud humor, great characters, riveting storytelling, and heartfelt emotion make ARMAGEDDON an exhilarating thrill ride you'll want to experience like there's no tomorrow.

Yes, it seems like a good concept for a movie, an astroid hitting Earth, only a few days to live, but, what makes this movie bad, is the fact it's more of a love story than an Armageddon. It foucus to much on love between a couple and comedy, than what the own title and DVD cover promises it will be! Overall, its jokes and action seens are fun to watch, but this movie doesn't take itself to seriously.

One of the worst science-fiction films of all time, big special-effects with not a single thought behind them, it's not a wonder when one considers the makers of this film were in a race against another film with a very like storyline called deep impact, and it's not a surprise deep impact is a far superior films of this sad performer, but if you like flag-waving glorification of the United States and Americanism this is your film!

Absolute garbage. It's bad enough that it replaces character with effects, pointless explosions and stints that are horrible, but it's worse when NASA uses this movie for the students to point out the 126 things they did wrong as if they flunked kindergarten science.
