About this movie

Womanizing local weatherman Steve (Owen Wilson) must accompany his off-the-grid best friend Ben (Zach Galifianakis) to his childhood home for Ben's estranged father's funeral. They soon discover that Ben has inherited the family fortune, leaving the ill-equipped duo to battle Ben's formidable sister (Amy Poehler) and deal with his father's gorgeous 25-year-old widow (Laura Ramsey). Written and directed by Matthew Weiner ("Mad Men") and featuring complex performances from iconic comedic actors Wilson, Galifianakis and Poehler, ARE YOU HERE is an unexpected story about family, friendship and the people who keep us afloat when life throws us for a loop.

I thought this was a really good movie. I loved the cast, but if you're expecting "The Hangover"'s Zack G then you will be disappointed. This is more of a "Due Date" role for him. Nevertheless, the whole cast was amazing. It's a story about life and death and all the mess in between. Owen Daniels character is great with his sarcasm and quick wit. If you're looking to ROFL, then you might want to choose something else, but if you like these actors and a good story I don't think you'll be disappointed.

"Are You Here" was fairly entertaining, somewhat comical, and downright not what I expected. The cast did a great job with each of their characters, but the disjointed flow of the movie did not allow for them to truly 'come together' at any point. I believe that it started out as a promising story only to end disappointingly. The viewer is left asking"and then what?" My favorite scene? That had to be Owen Wilson chasing a chicken around the yard....had me rolling.

It would seem reasonable to expect a movie featuring three respected comedic actors to be at least decent. Are You Here failed to achieve even this low standard. The movie move in a disjointed, haphazard way that made it hard to follow or enjoy.
