About this movie

From acclaimed fantasy film producer Guillermo del Toro and director Scott Cooper comes this disquieting horror thriller written by C. Henry Chaisson, Nick Antosca and Cooper. In ANTLERS, small-town Oregon elementary school teacher Julia Meadows (Keri Russell) notices something is "off" about Lucas, one of her students. He's a quiet loner, and when asked to join in storytelling and drawing assignments, he presents disturbing material about mythical beasts inspired by local lore. Concerned, Julia seeks to learn more about Lucas's home life. When it appears that he is living in dire conditions, Julia and her brother Paul (Jesse Plemons), the town's sheriff, explore further, eventually discovering that Lucas is harboring a dangerous secret. When they ultimately learn the whole truth about Lucas's family, things take a terrifying turn. Genre master del Toro is joined by producers David S. Goyer and J. Miles Dale, with Jim Rowe, Nick Antosca and Kevin Turen as executive producers. Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane and Amy Madigan also star in this chilling story that ties an ancient terror to insatiable human greed and its modern wages of poverty, addiction and environmental devastation.

As a native really expected to see more of Graham Greene, unfortunately the guy was in the movie for a short bit to explain the wendigo (every native in any horror movie ever.). Anyways, love the westernized version of the wendigo was pretty creepy. Story wise doing its best off of nick acosta's the quiet boy did alright. If you like it you like it, but it's not for everyone.

Was confusing at first an kinda slow but it ended up being a good movie with several jump scares. The gore was decent also, they didn't over do it with blood like most horror movies. The movie always played with your emotions an it made you care about the main characters especially the little boy.

2 YEARS OF HYPING MYSELF OVER THIS MOVIE DELAY AFTER DELAY AMD FINALLY, WE ALL WENT TO THE THEATER TO SEE IT. I LVOED IT. IT WENT DIFFERENT THAN I IMAGINED, AND I HOPE SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING LIKE WHATS IN MY HEAD. I LOVED THE FOLKLORE ASPECT, LEGEND TAILS ARE A GREAT CANVAS, JUST TAKES THE RIGHT VISION AND EXECUTION. DEL TORO IMO IS THE RIGHT GUY, OR AT LEAST ONE OF THEM. WORTH A WATCH OR 2 FOR SURE. ITS DARK, SO BE EMOTIONALLY READY.
