Too real. She should have kept on meds. I did. Or i would be dead. Gone thru similar stuff. He was too full of his husband position ,including a doc. Bad ,teribble awful,oh,too xplicit ,i felt everything both of them went thru. No way out of her awfulness, the ultimate of evey ultimatums to rid herself of herself her husband her child. This is what it did to me to write all this every emotion in me went out then back in. I murmered n mumbled to myself for days. Brilliant film! Phew!!

After reading several reviews I was expecting to be grimacing at all the horror, but aside from a couple of scenes of sexual mutilation, there was nothing to make me feel uneasy. Not really fitting of the horror genre, more a psychological thriller. This 'art project' was mainly dark and dull

Lars Von Trier is one of the greatest filmmakers alive. If you want sanitized mindless drivel, Lars is not your man. If you want beautifully filmed, sometimes very uncomfortable narrative journeys. Stunningly talented, fully committed actors, then you just hit paydirt. Some don't "get it"...and that's okay. Like all fine art, Trier's work needs to be savored, revisited and not hurried. His work is an honest, brutal look at the human condition. If it makes you uncomfortable, it should!
