About this movie

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios' Ant-Man. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Really liked this movie. It's punchy and brisk and Paul Rudd makes an excellent charismatic lead. It has solid action throughout with some great comedic beats. After all the bad press prior to release I thought this might be a bit of a mess but I couldn't ha3 be more wrong. Good solid movie fun and my third favorite Marvel movie after Captain America The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Film is good - as for marvel universe - though it's impossible to play any Google play films on a big screen. I have one of the latest Samsung smart tellies and it's impossible to watch with a family because it will keep braking and so on. Mind you we have fibre broadband and watch now TV amazon and others at the same time On 2 TV but not Google on a single one... Shame on you Google... Might need to take my custom elsewhere....

Like many people, I wasn't sure about Ant-Man as a stand - alone character; after all, even in the comics the original turned into Giant - Man very quickly. I am glad to say I was wrong. The film has great pace, good humour and showed how effective the character can be (taking on The Falcon was a great battle and very clever). Paul Rudd plays it just right, with good support from the rest of the cast. It drops a star purely because the main baddie went into the predictable [SPOILER ALERT] "Let's use another character like the hero" path (my only complaint about the Iron Man films). But you get past that. Ant-Man is a fine addition to the roster, and I am looking forward to the sequel and how he integrates into The Avengers in the 3rd film and the 3rd Captain America.
