I was pretty surprised at how bad this movie was. The acting other than Fox was the worst I've seen in a very long time. The more surprising thing was that the music was straight up terrible. The dance scenes were so lazy, they were either girls slapping their hands or just free style dancing. Even the camera work was sophomoric. I'm really just genuinely surprised at how bad this movie was considering the caliber of actors and the massive amount of money they spent on ads.

The "new" Annie can't even sing that well...in a MUSICAL? The scenery is just the drab ugly modern city, pales beside the 1982 version with opulent wealth and class contrasted to a depression era orphanage. The costumes are boring, the plot changes only make it more trite, Cameron Diaz is match for the kooky histrionic Carol Burnett as the conniving Ms. Hannigan. "Hard Knock Life" is the only good number. Annie being black is the least of my complaints.

The whole story has changed from the original. It really is quite sad that we have to destroy a musical to try and to try and make it PC. The musical acts are really sad for the caliber of actors. I left about 3/4 of the way through, i just wish i could get our groups money refunded as i really hate to see this film break even let alone make any money. Where 501 Five Star reviews came from, i feel bad the movie studios actually have viewers that want to see whatever this is
