I watch a lot of movies where I'm left thinking, "what's the point?" An Act of War does not have that problem. The film examines what its like for a veteran to come home to a world that is fine leaving him to the shadows. And there he wallows in darkness. It does a great job of truly examining a broken mind and compels you to keep watching as everything spirals out of control. Russ Russo does a really great job of giving a subtle performance. He shows a lot of restraint with this very fascinating character and I really commend him on that. The film has a really great black and white look that any fans of the neo-noir genre are really going to enjoy. The looks is bold and fresh and I love it. If your looking for a film that will leave you thinking, that doesn't try to pretend that it has all the answers, then I recommend you give this one a shot.
