About this movie

U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle is sent to Iraq with only one mission to protect his brothers-in-arms. His pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and, as stories of his courageous exploits spread, he earns the nickname “Legend”. However, his reputation is also growing behind enemy lines, putting a price on his head and making him a prime target of insurgents. He is also facing a different kind of battle on the home front: striving to be a good husband and father from halfway around the world. Despite the danger, as well as the toll on his family at home, Chris serves through four harrowing tours of duty in Iraq, personifying the spirit of the SEAL creed to “leave no one behind.” But upon returning to his wife, Taya Renae Kyle (Sienna Miller), and kids, Chris finds that it is the war he can’t leave behind.

Those without love of country and honor might not like this movie. For the rest of us it is a heart rendering portrayal of a true American hero with a drive to do what is right and the selflessness to sacrifice himself for others. Not being a professional or amateur critic, I can't tell you about antagonists, themes, plots and other technical jargon. i can only tell you that I liked the movie and that it inspired me to try to be a better human being and to hopefully live up to the example shown by Chris Kyle and others like him. There is nothing I admire more in a person than to go against odds to do the right thing; to serve our country and flag for which it stands; to give of one's self for the sake of service only. So yes, the ending brought tears to my eyes.

I am a combat vet and all the people that rant about him being a psychopath or a murder are sheep like his father says in the movie. Unless you have served don't even bother to comment. From one who has been there, decisions are made and all you can do is hope your decisions are right. Protest the government but do not blame the Soldier. For those who put down the Soldier you in my opinion are sheep that when the slaughter comes will be held accountable by God and pray that a shepherd will come. All the high ideals that you and the liberal leaders espouse will not save you. Evil will come and you will be found lacking. Great movie, tear jerker for a Soldier who has lost buddies. As they say been there done that got the t-shirt.

Anyone who keeps saying this movie was graphic or "was too much like Hollywood" with all the fighting and stuff..... You obviously have never heard stories from REAL Navy Seals. My cousin is one, and they did that every time they went over there. They weren't chosen to be nice fellows.
