Amar Akbar & Tony

The title is an homage to a 70’s Bollywood classic and sets the tone for a unique film marrying the storytelling styles of British Independent cinema with that of the Bollywood narrative as ‘Amar Akbar & Tony’ come of age, cause chaos and fall in love in multicultural London. Described as an indie flick "…with both brains and heart" (Radio Times) and a "Brit of a laugh" (Mirror Newspaper), this enjoyable coming of age tale offers "entertaining visual set pieces and a moral of friendship" (Sight & Sound) and was deemed "crucially representative of an entire generation" by HeyUGuys. A British independent film, Amar Akbar & Tony‘s cast offers a mix of familiar faces and some of the coolest new talent in the UK including Karen David, Laura Aikman, Nina Wadia, Goldy Notay, Ace Bhatti, Mark Moraghan, Tanveer Ghani, Amrita Acharia, Dev Sagoo, Manrina Rekhi, Shide Boss and Meera Syal. The original soundtrack and score for the film is composed by music producer Rishi Rich.
