Good movie. Simmons and Hirsch make a dynamic team. The scenes, story, characters and acting make it all feel real. The Comedy never goes too far and when the drama gets a bit serious the pacing of moments keeps the tale flowing. I don't think pink is Simmons color, but I wouldn't argue with him about it. ;) I'm glad it is out on Google play. I hadn't heard of it before I saw it was new to rent.

Sophisticated tough guy wants to find his daughter and the only lead he has is her milk toast boyfriend. This is a charming and funny movie. The synopsis makes this movie out to be much more wild and crazy than it is. It does have it's fun moments but the the tone of the movie is probably much more tame than what people might expect. I think that's what makes it a gem though. It has heart, looks good, flows well and the acting is fine. Even the soundtrack grows on you after a while. I liked it and would recommend it.

It is not a movie of endless action, superfluous CGI, unbelievable drama, or excessively over the top stupidity lending to tailored jokes. It is an enjoyable story with a good cast and great acting. While it will not be necessarily a movie worth a re-watch I certainly respect and admire the tale told as well as the performances that made it so - and there are moments worth gleaning perspectives on life from.
