Always great to re-watch this movie in ALL its glory I liked the extra footage. I'm just a little aggrivated that James Cameron's "custom intro" which I thought was part of what I paid for, is not there. Get your act together google, paying customers should get what the description says they're getting for their money. Not happy.

This is so much better than the theatrical version. The scenes that were added establishes Ripley's regret and need for a surrogate child which completely recontextualizes her relationship with Newt, which in turn makes the action sequences mean more to the viewer. With the motherhood subtext in place, the final conflict is two mothers battling each other to protect their young. The extra scenes early in the movie make all the action sequences later in the movie have more emotional impact.

Probably best sc-fi movie ever made. I will say i thought this was the 3hr special edition film like i have on dvd, but its not its only 2hr 34min. My 3hr version has all the added scenes of the digital and more. Ill admit watching this version is still way better then the cable version or if your used to watching this film on amc or fx then it'll seem like almost a different movie since basic channels buther the hell out of it to save time. Got it for $6.88/HD so i can't really complain.
