Any diehard Alien fan will agree that Alien Resurrection is the WORST film from the franchise. Also, the special edition of this movie does NOT save/fix the film in any shape or way. I highly doubt this movie will become a cult classic/overlooked in the future unlike Alien 3 which ended up being one of the most fascinating & overlooked sequel of the franchise. However, Alien Resurrection will never be redeemed in the future. This film is basically a one time viewing experience & nothing more.

The movie's visuals have made me queasy since 1997. They are out of place in this space horror/adventure. It has a gloppy yellow and purple feel and a tone that seems blackly comic whereas the script might have made a decent sf action film in the hands of another director. The Director's Edition of Alien3 is much better, and it took years for me to find anything good in that movie. Resurrection has no redeeming qualities, in this form, and even the Ripley clone is unlikable. A viewer doesn't care what happens to all these nihilistic characters. But the actors do their best, and the director is a true talent, just not the person for this job.

Okay seriously what even? This show was all over the place. Ripley was back because of reasons, this girl is a robot because of reasons, the Queen is back because of reasons, Ripley has like a baby Xenomorph because of reasons. Like all of these are some what good ideas, but it can't focus on anything and doesn't even explain that much. I honestly can't recommend this one, it's just plain weird and bizarre, and not in the good way. I mean it's not even a horror movie any more.
