Alien: Covenant

Spoilers below. "Alien" is in the title, but it's really about Michael Fassbender. They had a chance to really delve into the Engineers or at least give us more of the aliens, but they chose to focus on how loyal or evil androids can be (we know the story; can we move on?), and how stupid (beyond the average stupid human behaviour in horrors) can be. One Android on a spaceship wiping out an entire colony of an advanced race took away any hope of getting to know the Engineers more in this movie. The story is boring and frustrating. A real opportunity lost.

The movie shows its potential. But suffers on character build, everyone dose great with thier roles, especially Fassbender. The cinematography was breath taken and the soundtrack brought the chills to my spine. I can see why people would not like this film: 1. Dosent explain enough of the promethus story. 2. Apparently dosent show much alien (I can disagree) 3. Characters aren't well developed 4. Can be slow at times Me personally, I think the movie has an issue of its pacing and characters. I was interested in what was going and enjoyed the thrill. I don't understand what people mean by not much Alien Cuz they show up at the 47 minute mark... but I guess movie goers are picky... but besides the point. If you enjoyed Promethus, then you mite like this film. But If you like Alien then you probably wouldn't mind the film. It all depends on your mind, just a recommendation. Watch the film with a open mind. Don't watch it for Alien/Promethus watch it for its outline (story) don't watch it for action and Don't! Watch it and over expect things Cuz you will be let down... to sum up, Alien covenant is a okay movie, it has great acting, wonderful cinematography. Entertaining Scenes but lacks with some plot and characters. Alien Covenant gets a 3.5/5 (Side note) watch the bonus features Cuz they explain a lot more with the characters. Well, it seems that our descendants have gained a few more tools but have lost a lot of common sense. These human colonists are taking one bad decision after another and almost all of their moves are of the worst kind. To the point where it becomes a tad ridiculous. After all, not one of our modern (and less advanced) astronauts would put his or her face right next to a weird-looking egg on an unknown planet, and quarantine would be imposed without question. But all this very basic training seems lost on the colonists (as well as on the film makers). It's a marvel that anyone survived in the end. This Alien Covenant is more of a horror movie, with monsters hiding in corners, than of a space-faring sci-fi genre. Sure, we follow till the end, but we're not particularly impressed.
