About this movie

Lt. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is the lone survivor when her crippled spaceship crash lands on Fiorina 161, a bleak wasteland inhabited by former inmates of the planet's maximum security prison. Ripley's fears that an Alien was aboard her craft are confirmed when the mutilated bodies of ex-cons begin to mount. Without weapons or modern technology of any kind, Ripley must lead the men into battle against the terrifying creature. And soon she discovers a horrifying fact about her link with the Alien, a realization that may compel Ripley to try destroying not only the horrific creature but herself as well.

Awful as a sequel to Aliens, but otherwise a good horror sf movie. The Director's Edition is INFINITELY better than this theatrical version. The beginning and the birth of the ox (not dog) Alien are incredible. Alien fans will want to see or own both films, but for anyone new to the series, absolutely watch the Director's Edition first, also available on Google Play. It's a deep drama and Alien 3 boasted the return of H.R. Giger as creature designer.

While it was detestable to classic Alien, it was not entirely David Fincher's wrong doing. We know him for putting out such bloody classics as Fight Club, Seven and Zodiac. But this contemporary classic of a director was defeated by the system and shut out of the editing process. It could've been so much more without studio interference.

The final special edition, adds like 30 minutes to the original, and the changes just changed the movie for me. A minute here or there, change dynamic in this scene, all subtle but effective. This version is a hack job by the studio, and it shows if u watch the other. Enjoyed the special edition. You have to get the special edition on Amazon.
