To those douchebags who rated this masterpiece 1 star, stay with your Disney films. This film is absolutely astounding. The effects stand up, and hr giger's alien... Just wow. Every time I play alien isolation, it makes me want to watch Alien. This is a sci fi film for the true connoisseur.

A beautifully made cinematic masterpiece from director Ridley Scott and one of his best films. Everything about this film, from the acting ensemble, Roger Christian's set design, to composer Jerry Goldsmith's score, all elevates it beyond the b-movie trappings that first inspired Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shushett's screenplay. I prefer the 1979 Theatrical Version in comparison to the shorter 2003 director's cut, although the excised and legendary "cocoon scene" is as terrifyingly slimy and horrific as any of the horror scenes and it would've been cool if it was originally included in the 1979 version.
