About this movie

The zany Marx Brothers turn an operatic performance into chaos in their efforts to promote their protégé's romance with the leading lady. Considered by many to be the Brothers' finest big budget adventure.Co-starring Marxian regular Margaret Dumont ("Coconuts") and Allan Jones ("Show Boat"). A fun-filled musical romp. Inducted into the Library of Congress National Film Registry and recently selected by the prestigious American Film Institute as one of the top 400 American Films of all time.

Although this film had the Marx Brothers compromise their anarchic comic energy with a relatively dull love story, this film is otherwise having the great family of comedy continue their glory years as the masters of film humour. Even if you never heard of the Brothers, and can't imagine sitting through a black and white movie, you will find yourself convulsing with laughter until you likely have abdominal cramps. From Groucho's brilliant witticisms, Chico's musical panache and Harpo's otherworldly pantomime, you will have the time of your life, culminating an opera production thrown into the kind of chaos as only these brothers could do.
