About this movie

A Hologram for the King follows businessman Alan Clay (Tom Hanks) on a journey halfway around the world, far from his American roots, to a rising Saudi Arabian city. Based on the best-selling novel by Dave Eggers, Clay is dispatched to pitch a new IT contract to a wealthy King, a project that must be a success for him to stave off bankruptcy, pay his daughter's college fees, and finally accomplish something big.

Not the best movie. There was some funny bit but no elaboration on the main story line. Felt a bit like the weather in the movie slow and rather long. Even Tom Hanks looked startled at the beginning of the movie. The taxi driver was funny, though

Worst Tom Hanks Movie. I like Tom Hanks and that's the only thing that makes it bearable to watch all of it. Only paid 99p to watch but even a penny would be a waste. It's a shite movie!

Tom Hanks portrays his frustrated character well. You get a real sense of the atmospheric and unique location and customs of this part of the world. A compelling watch.
