About this movie

Two friends embark on a quest for a lost buddy. On this journey, they encounter a long forgotten bet, a wedding they must crash, and a funeral that goes, ridiculously out of control. As they make their way through the perilous landscape, another journey begins. Their inner journey through memory lane and the story of their friend -- the impressible free-thinker Rancho, who is in unique way, touched and changed their lives. It's a story of their hostel days that swings between Rancho's romance with the spirited Pia, and his clash with an oppressive mentor, Viru Sahastrabudhhe. And then one day, suddenly, Rancho vanished. Who was he? Where did he come from? Why did he leave? The friend who influenced and inspired them to think creatively and independently, even as the conformist world called them "three idiots." Where is the original idiot now? Finally, in misty mountains of unparalleled beauty, the friends find the key to the secret.

This is not an educational flim as it is assumed to be. Some good lessons are there from Farhan's role and Raju's role. The main theory behind the film is we have to love the education not the success behind it. But the engineering students life which is shown in this film is not true. Teachers change the life of students. As a drama it is entertaining and full of fun. Amir, Sharman, R. Madhavan, Kareena, Boman Irani and the chatur😂 has performed great. A kudos to Raj Kumar Hirani.

Very important film with respect to the Indian education scenario, where education has become alike a commodity sold for various rates on the market through tuitions etc. Many Indian children are conditioned from childhood to choose an elite job such as doctor, engineer etc and pursue it even if they're not interested in it. Due to this students only study to get a degree not to gain knowledge. The quality of Indian education has been dropping while student suicides rising. these are the themes

Amir khan tried to show that teachers are devils, but actually they are not. Teachers act strict just because they want their students to succeed. How come all IITians are successful, because their teacher are both harsh and soft according to the situation, but the movie focuses on proving that teachers are selfish scavengers and all they want is to torcher their students. A very bad movie depicting a very bad example.
