This is the definitive adaptation of Jules Verne ' s classic novel. Sure, there is a lot missing from the book but they didn't make four hour movies back then! Speaking of back then, Google state that it was released in 1982 when in fact it was 1954! Lavish set pieces, a thrilling battle with a monsterous giant squid and amazing performances most notably from Kirk Douglas and James Mason make this, in my opinion Disney's greatest movie!

Brings back memories of watching this film over the Christmas period at my grandparents house. Magical times
