Venturing out into the Chauvet caves, this glorious documentary sees the intrepid, enthusiastic Werner Herzog in typically Quixotic form—once more bringing us spelunking to seemingly the ends of the earth in an attempt to reveal man’s place and proportion in the world around us. Majestic.
