Tender Is the Night
Wrought with emotional drama and self-destructive behavior is the story of Nicole Diver, a wealthy but disturbed woman of the 1920s who marries her psychiatrist. They live together at her Riviera estate, where the doctor's analytical skills grow weaker as time passes. As Nicole grows stronger, the doctor becomes totally dependent upon her emotionally and financially. Equally self-destructive are the film's supporting characters: an alcoholic composer and Nicole's greedy sister Baby Warren.
