Daisy returns from her travels in Asia to find Mike has been living in her room, and that the enigmatic stranger she met on the way may have been even more mysterious than she had thought. They've swapped bags, and she's now being followed by secret agents keen to get to the contents.

Marsha looks for a new lodger when Amber decides to move out, while Daisy and Tim find themselves broke.

Mike and Tim are through to the quarter finals of Robot Wars, but trouble is brewing as a rival team attempts to sabotage their efforts. Meanwhile, Brian is invited to do an installation at an art gallery, and Marsha goes along to offer support and enjoy the free booze.

Tim is delighted but nervous when Damien Knox of Darkstar Comics asks him to bring in his portfolio. The last time they had met, Knox cruelly put down Tim's work, resulting in Tim drawing a less than flattering portrait of him, which Daisy puts into Tim's portfolio whilst trying to help. Tim is left with a short time to retrieve the drawing, with the assistance of Mike and Tyres.

When Sophie cancels a date with Tim at short notice, he and Daisy decide to go out for the evening, resulting in misadventures including bumping into Tim's old enemy Duane Benzie, a group of angry teens who are trying to score, and losing their keys.

The gang go out for dinner to celebrate Daisy's birthday, but Marsha gets very suspicious when Tim flirts with Sophie and pays no attention to Daisy. When Marsha eventually tells her that she saw Tim and Sophie kissing, Daisy finally admits that she and Tim aren't really a couple - devastating Marsha and causing her to storm out of the restaurant, and then the flat.
