Carrie thinks her stock has gone up thanks to her date with new boyfriend Jack Berger, and Miranda faces her feelings about Steve.

Despite some steamy public foreplay with Jack, Carrie discovers it's a lot colder between the sheets. Meanwhile, Samantha introduces the girls to a raw foods restaurant that features some hot 'takeout' (the waiter), Miranda compares Steve to her new love (TiVo), and Charlotte considers converting to Judaism.

Berger has a worrying reaction to a message from his ex, Miranda gets mad at Steve and Charlotte says goodbye to Christmas.

Carrie regrets criticising Berger's book, while Berger teaches Miranda how to tell if a guy is 'just not that into her'.

Samantha must be keen on Jerry - she agrees to travel to Brooklyn to see his play, which bores her rigid until he steals the show with his trouser-dropping performance. Samantha resolves to make him a star, starting with a name change. In the money, Carrie buys Berger a Prada shirt but, after learning some news about him, realises she may have been a little tactless.

Carrie isn't keen on serving jury duty, but is more concerned with the problems in her relationship with Berger. Miranda's work commitments are affecting her relationship with baby Brady, and the matchmakers at the synagogue set Charlotte up on a series of awful dates. She just wants her Harry back. Samantha, meanwhile, is having no such problems, as Smith (formerly Jerry) becomes more and more of a star.
